I am a qualified and experienced career development specialist and I advocate for the value of career management strategies and effective career choices. I support the research that identifies Career development as a life-long and ongoing process.
At critical decision making points, guided, non-judgmental and impartial decision making enables constructive outcomes. Career guidance is an investment in a person’s future.
Interpreting a range of information, finding clarity and focus to individual career situations and collaboratively generating the next tangible steps lead to positive change.
For the last twenty years I have worked in career development in many environments - with students making choices and decisions in and from secondary school, students in the tertiary system, and career changers to find new directions. I have worked in organisations reviewing and building career development capabilities, presented and facilitated workshops.
I value my membership of the two appropriate professional organizations – CATE and CDANZ. I have served on these committees at a local level and also spent five years on the National Executive of CDANZ including a term as President.
My company Go Careers (www.gocareers.co.nz) caters to a range of ages and stages of career development. The Go Careers title hints at the planning and action based nature required in Career development.
