Director of Context Consulting Ltd, and one of four Executive Directors of The Career Development Company Ltd, a for-profit social enterprise.

Big pictures are made up of many pixels – all are interconnected. With a systems theory worldview, my work has at its heart people and context. By using a narrative approach, I can engage with clients’ as they make sense of these connections.

In my career spanning secondary education, vocational and industry training, and career development, I enjoy:
• facilitating face-to-face and group career development
• mentoring trainees through work-based training
• postgraduate study in career development
• developing NZ qualifications and programmes
• developing integrated course and assessment material
• facilitating training and workshops
• reviewing and assessing micro-credentials
• presenting and delivering workshops at conference
• facilitating and writing submissions on education reform
• being an advisory board member for a career development degree
• being part of a team reviewing and developing professional standards

As a recent graduate of the Master of Professional Practice (Career Development), I advocate for, and value, the transformative influence authentic life-long learning can have on individuals’ motivation to envision and enact a meaningful future self. Of interest to me, are the challenges and opportunities this presents for career practice, particularly in education.
